Mission Statement
Socially Responsible Enterprise...since 2002

GreenMicrofinance LLC was formed in 2002.  The initial objectives were:

- Supporting clean energy for the poor.  Clean, renewable energy  is essential to achieving two of the Millennium Development Goals: poverty reduction and environmental sustainability.

- Promoting the distribution of and use of renewable energy technologies, which help reduce global warming, providing the poor with cleaner air, safer homes, and ultimately better health.

GreenMicrofinance Center

During 2008, GreenMicrofinance established our non-profit, GreenMicrofinance Center (GMfC™).   We are in the process of applying to become a recognized (501(c)(3).  This non-profit will complement the already established for-profit, GreenMicrofinance LLC (GMf).

GreenMicrofinance Center's mission is to address climate change and environmental justice by providing education and sharing knowledge on 'microfinance and climate change' and 'clean energy for the poor'.

GreenMicrofinance Center and GreenMicrofinance, LLC

GreenMicrofinance Center (GMfC™) and GreenMicrofinance, LLC (GMf) are two distinct legal organizations with differing missions.  This website will be solely dedicated to the GreenMicrofinance Center, a non-profit.   GMfC web address is www.greenmicrofinance.org and GMf will be www.greenmicrofinance.com, which is under construction.

The two organizations will allow GreenMicrofinance™ more flexibility in creating value, in managing stakeholder interest in our work, and in organizational structure.  The for-profit and non-profit will offer both short-term and long-term options for funding partners by:

- Better mobilizing private and philanthropic donor support through the non-profit.

- Providing a socially responsible for-profit investment avenue for financial institutions, foundations, corporations, and individuals.

Both organizations seek to partner with socially responsible investors and donors.    Please contact us at info@greenmicrofinance for more information on how you may join GreenMicrofinance efforts.
