This action guide was created by young people like you, to give anyone who wants to make the world a better place everything they need to start a campaign, or link up with movements already happening in their country.

This is the historic promise 189 world leaders made at the United Nations Millennium Summit in 2000 when they signed onto the Millennium Declaration and agreed to meet the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs). The MDGs are an eight-point road map with measurable targets and clear deadlines for improving the lives of the world

We are the first generation with the resources and technology to stamp out poverty. The missing ingredient is the political will to put the Millennium Development Goals and the fight against poverty at the heart of political priorities. We need to generate the political pressure for change.
The Millennium Villages seek to end extreme poverty by working with the poorest of the poor, village by village throughout Africa, in partnership with governments and other committed stakeholders, providing affordable and science-based solutions to help people lift themselves out of extreme poverty.
